Almost get the impression the "rain" on the last page was more of a splash from giant bugs being knocked into the river from a great height.

That or the emergence of this new challenger.

Yeah, that's the thing about ants. There's always such a lot of them! And there's always at least one queen ant. As Princess Bala put it "Have you ever heard of two ants? Two million ants, maybe, but never two ants!"

I have a vague suspicion that the river might NOT be the best idea.

I also approve of the general lack of lingerie on the ladies' part. :D

Ugh, I just got an image of those floating fire ant rafts from the Texas hurricane flooding, only the ants are magic and huge

LoL you can just hear that cinematic foghorn sound movies use to instill the sense of awe into audience lately. xD
I'm looking forward to how they are to beat an insect that huge. Because it would have to be insanely tough, to not die because of its own weight crushing it.
Well at least it better not be "they were taken, we have to get them back" xD

Eh.. If realism was a thing, it wouldn't be the weight that would be the issue as much as the fact that an insect that large wouldn't be able to breath. (That's what sets the size limit for spiders too btw (although they're of course not insects).

Anyhoo, magical ants can grow however big the story calls for and weigh as little as the author needs them to :)

It's a demon ant, and as you'll soon see, structural concerns are not a priority.

With enough magic to reinforce something, everything can become structural. :)

I'm loving the knights armor, it looks like something that would actually work. :)

That one's not for show.

Hm... I do wonder if it has any circular features built into it.

Would make sense for someone in that position to have a little more going for them than just plain platemail.

Too bad the knight's looking in the wrong direction during Tia's kick... Lol

Ah, platemail with spell circles ?
Sounds like a neat idea, could be done like the armor that Emperor Ferdinand wore.
It has two neat Rondels that protect the armpit, which would be obvious for spell circles.
Also, round shields would be an obvious candidate for spell circles.

The shield actually does seem to have a circle on it, although so far it seems more decorative than anything.

Great stuff, really hitting your stride. Hope the little bones feel better. Updated my page. All the best.
