I've really enjoyed reading all three of your comics/graphic novels and I particularly love the color work in this one. I was wondering though, if, instead of a solid black edge and a solid brown tint to illustrate the arc of the wooden bokken, you would overlay a transparency gradient from 100% at the top of the arc through to 0% at the blade. Would this improve your satisfaction with the page?
I'm so glad you aren't a perfectionist! Even if you aren't 100% happy with the page, you are willing to share it (I hope knowing that we will love it regardless of what you don't like). I struggle to share what I do (mostly writing) because I want it to be perfect, which is unreasonable if I want to make any progress.
Don't love the last panel. I get (I think) that you are trying to show extremely fast movement, but the solid coloring of the entire "swish" is kinda 'meh" to me.
I'm definitely enjoying the comic so far. I check back here far too often for the next page (not that I want you to rush the pages, I just want to see the next page as soon as I can :P) and given my new dedication to swimming I'm gonna go back and re-read Scrub Diving!
When i looked at the combat in this page, i was reminded by Kendo style fights. May i suggest that you look through Kendo fights for refference?
(If this had already been mentioned, i appologise, did not look at the comments for the previous few pages)
