Are you talking about Skye or Tia?

Skye's not bright, but she's not like Tia, and she's cold as ice when things get tough.

skye's pentagram

if cool under pressure, why wouldn't skye have a higher 'cool' rating

Well, it's not quite that kind of stat. You can be excitable and have a high cool, or visa-versa. That's just personality.

Okay, just looked back at the other character sheets (which I should really just bookmark)

-Guess this confirms that stat points are not level-dependent! Wow!

-Am I right in thinking that the Knight class is specific to actual titled knights (or however knighthood works in this setting)? That might suggest why Guin was willing to switch when she was already a 9th level rogue. Either it's just a more powerful fighting style, or she wanted to join the knights that badly.

-I'm also guessing Magic Knight is a sort of "prestige class" you can only take levels in once you've reached a certain level in knight (and fulfilled some other conditions, probably)?

The knight class is almost always affiliated with a knightly order, because otherwise you can't use the class to its fullest. However, not all people in a knightly order stick to the knight class. Sometimes another class suits them well enough to abandon most of the perks you get from being a knight class.

Magic knight isn't a prestige class, but it is rare since it's a generalist class. In Skye's case, her magic hand really makes the magic knight class worth having.

Also, stats don't depend on level... much. You gain one stat point at level ten, which you only keep as long as the class is your main. She added +1 spirit at magic knight 10. The +1 cool she chose as a knight reverted when she changed classes, although if she changes back she gets it back.

That's quite a way to drop a character sheet!

So my question is, is there a max level and do they gain another stat point every 10'th level?

What does Spirit govern ?

Magic items and enchantments have a spirit load. So Guen's spirit of 2 means she can't equip her magic shield and dagger at the same time- but Skye could.

It also determines magic casting speed: unloaded spirit is how many circles you can cast per round.

Magic knights specialize in rapidly adjusting their spirit load to maximize combat effectiveness round to round.

Spirit can also be burned to activate a variety of class powers, and is defense against many kinds of magic.

Level 10 is the last prescripted level. Above that, players gain abilities of their choosing using a points system. Stat ups are one of the most expensive things to pick.

Ah, I had understood it to be intelligence that governed magic items load.

My bad.

That's mostly for skills. I don't want magicians using magic items so easily. :)
