As a person who draws a lot, I'm gonna say a thing;

You may feel you are struggling, but you in fact are thriving. You're brilliant my friend. Keep working, keep trying, keep making it happen. You have a lot of skill, a solid story to tell, solid character design, and a well developed sense of color/line work.

You're good at what you do.

Thanks for the encouragement, but don't worry. I'm not struggling to continue, I'm just struggling to figure out the art I'm looking for.

I might try paper textures...

Yeah, that's the real trick. Your drawing will always get better and better over time, but working out a style for yourself that you like can be a struggle.

....Stop suggesting things that make me think naughty thoughts.

Wait, no, don't stop. Uh....

I'm confused now.

I just follow - I never comment. I want to say how much I enjoy your work. I found Scrub Diving by chance, then checked out the rest of your work. You're really developing your skill as you move on - your main characters have always had a feeling of reality, and the current ones are better than ever.

Because people always find me through the pirate version of Cheer.

*tries to do the math* ...how can they pirate something that's free on HF?

Hm, sorry, I didn't mean "pirate" version, I meant "redistributed without permission in violation of international copyright law" version.

Second. And I found Scrub Diving via the Belfry Webcomics Index. :D

I think that's how you're supposed to advertise comics, although I don't know anything about that, either.

Hey I just noticed this exchange - I found you through Scrub Diving too! When they were in the police station. What hooked me was wondering what the heck happened that they should be in a police station. So I kept going back and back and then I thought ah to hell with it I'll just start at the beginning!

I found you thru Never Mind the Gap on some thread talking about sci-fi or alternate world graphic works. I have continued since I found the first, and went backwards to Cheer along the way. :D

Never Mind the Gap was my second most popular, probably because it came out shortly after the most popular one.

View,
Longtime reader, first time commenter here. I LOVE your work, and have loved reading all of your comics. It's been awesome to see your art progress from NMtG to now, and I love the plot lines you create. I just want to thank you for the emotional roller coasters you've put me in with your tales and the wonderful art I've been able to admire. Keep up the good work!

Also, I found a YouTube video praising your writing in the "redistributed without permission in violation of international copyright law" version" version of Cheer as well as mentioning your other comics! I'll leave the link here if you want it, and if you don't want it here, I can delete it.

Thanks!

I don't really mind the pirate copies of Cheer running around, since I'm not trying to make any money. But keep in mind that a lot of artists would like to make a living.
