This page was tough, because it's an exposition dump.

Old Guy starts the grand reveal, "Here is how I tricked that stupid spirit!"

Venne looks at Guin, thinks "Am I too buzzed to fight? 'Cause this whole mess is about to tip over into the Pit."

Maybe during the fight scene we'll see that lost knight again.
Venne: "Duck!"
Tia: "Duck?"
Guin: "Oh hey, there's that guy!"

He's not lost, he's just the only one that actually does any work around here.

As long as he returns alive from wherever Tia left him, naked and exasperated.

They turn blue whenever anyone talks about drowning!

"What if the living minds can't think those thoughts?" + Tattergold = someone was drugged to be so horny they were able to fuck a spirit into submission.

I hope that was a voluntary someone.

So that's what that stuff was there for. The intervening comic drove it out of my mind.

That's pretty clever, really.

And it would also make the spirit want to be sexy, thus a willing participant.
Well, as much as spirit can be a participant, to begin with.

Spirit-trafficking instead of human-trafficking?

@Sheela Hm, given that the spirit expert on this page has described it as "flooding the spirit with a new thought" this is essentially brainwashing the spirit. Willing isn't the word I'd use, but it isn't clear that a spirit has any free will to begin with. It's more like a looping bit of code, so unless you've got some really broad ideas about personhood this doesn't even qualify as a moral issue.

More like a neural network, where you can influence the nodes.
It's still the same "mind", it's just it's values that have changed.

But, yeah, not a person per se.

So spirits are kind of like an egregore given physical form?

I wouldn't know.
