Hm, this page took too long because work is work.

That's one of the general rules of life; work always expands to overflow the time allotted for it.

And yet all the necessary work still gets done. What a paradox.

I outsource my work to the fatcats, whom then sells it to the rats.
Then the rats come to my house, and I eat them.
Then I bark at the fatcats for not doing their work.
All in all, a very satisfying workday for me 😁

They already found the manna stone somebody left behind to start the mushroom growth. Shouldn't the next step be to burn the line of that growth?

And how does silk string impede a spirit's actions? I've not heard of silk having any magical properties. But then I'm not so big on D&D.

This isn't D&D, and it's interesting to see what different people pick up on.

That just goes to show I don't even know what to call it. I still don't get the silk strings nor why not burn the line of shroom growth.

My guess is that the shroom growth isn’t causing anything, it’s an effect of the magic.

Kinda like how if you cut down a big tree you’ll get mushrooms there feeding off the dead stump/roots

Silk is a magical insulator.

Can you elaborate?

Most of the arcs so far have involved Venne wearing silk to hide her aura, and saying so.

It's good to know what people might miss, though. I might have to be careful about it.

in a lot of fantasy and even real world witchcraft silk is able to protect against magical influences. this is why people will often pick up or wrap unknown or dangerous magic items with a silk handkerchief in novels.

Or a magical conductor, and thus the string/fabric functions as a magical Faraday cage?

BTW, I like how the speed is represented in the last panel. It's cute too! :-)

'sip your energy'

Did you mean 'sap'? Not really ever used in any context other than this, so most people don't know it right

No, I mean sip.

But if they sip, they'll sap too, won't they?

Sure, but they have different connotations.

I imagine whatever it is in the swamp targeted her because she is the weakest willed, but also powerful, being dragonkind.

TeeKay
She was the only possible target since she was the only one inside the circle.

I'm guessing anyway.

Yeah, but I was wondering if she was influenced to enter the circle. Also did that thing nick the mana stone off of her?
