She's a bit melodramatic.

When you’re magic you get to be melodramatic. What’s the point of bending the laws of reality if you can’t have fun while doing it?

Fortunately, Guin's hand bones can be healed. When you have a mana core the size of a table. She'll just have to wait at the end of the line until everyone else is healed first.

I can just hear Guin saying "But... we gotta eat? And we need sloth food...!"

Guinevere : "We also need to pay the Magic Guild for a mana core the size of a table !"
Venne : "No, we are not going to pay for it"
Guinevere : "But - "
Venne : "The guild master was strangely insistent that I brought one along, I suspect he knew the old one still works."

Pretty much, except the fourth line would be "That squid monster ate it, remember?"

Oh dear, not another monster!
The magic guild is not gonna be well pleased, are they ?
After all, the last time they fought a monster, a huge mansion was destroyed !
I mean, how are they gonna convince the Magic guild that there was a squid monster, unless a few houses are destroyed ?

.
.

I wonder who's house it will be ?
Oh hey, that guy with the pestilence mask that didn't want them in the sewers ?

.. he has a nice house, doesn't he ? >_<

I'm just reminded of all the old 1970s and 80s cliché TV shows like the A Team, where the heroes allegedly charge a lot of money for their services, but somehow always end up working for free, and yet they still put fuel in the van, bullets in the guns and food on the table! There's a TV trope about A-Team shooting - There should be one about A-Team financing as well... (There might be I just haven't got time to look right now!)

Maybe they had really good Hero Insurance ?

After all, they must have known that Heroism won't pay the bills.
